Hallo ihr Lieben,


wir melden uns mal wieder aus dem heißen Nagaland. Im Frühjahr ist es immer recht stürmisch mit heftigen Windböhen und der Beginn der Regenzeit.
Treffen mit den Eltern

Das lokale Projekt “The Joy of Giving” ist seit 2014 in vollem Gange. Dafür haben wir einige unserer Kinder ausgesucht, um ihre Schulbildung mit Hilfe von Sponsoren zu finanzieren. In Nagaland gibt es zwar staatliche Schulen, die fast kostenfrei sind, aber durch Korruption, ist die Qualität sehr bescheiden. Die Lehrer in solchen Schulen sind dann beim Staat angestellt und bekommen somit ein gutes Gehalt und Absicherung, deswegen sind diese Anstellungen sehr beliebt. Leider ist das System so korrupt, dass die Lehrer nicht nach Ausbildung und Qualifikationen ausgesucht werden. Auch ist es sehr üblich, dass jehne entweder gar nicht oder selten in der Schule auftauchen. Deshalb bringt jeder, der es sich leisten kann, sein Kind zu einer Privatschule. Da gibt es natürlich von den Kosten und Qualität her immense Unterschiede. Wir senden unsere gesponserten Kinder in eine mittelmäßige Privatschule in der Nähe des “The Garden”.
Immer zu Beginn des Jahres veranstalten wir ein Treffen mit den Eltern der gesponserten Kinder. Dabei ermutigen wir sie, ihre Kinder zu unterstützen und auch sicher zu gehen, dass diese zu Hause lernen. Wir erinnern sie daran, dass die Hauptverantwortung bei ihnen liegt und nicht bei uns. Außerdem verlangen wir, dass die Kinder an unseren Programmen teilnehmen, da wir einen holistischen Ansatz haben. Die Kinder sollen Bildung bekommen, aber auch geistlich, moralisch und seelisch gestärkt werden.

Um die oben genannten gesponserten Kinder in ihrer Schulbildung zu unterstützen, haben wir zusätzlich zu unseren Vollzeitmitarbeitern 2 Nachhilfe Lehrer angestellt. Die Kinder bekommen 4 mal in der Woche Nachhilfe.
Eines unserer Mädchen, Hutoli war schon immer sehr fleißig und bestrebt in der Schule erfolgreich zu sein. Aber leider durch ihren armen Hintergrund, war sie immer nur sehr mittelmäßig, bis sie dann in der 10. Klasse, welche eines der wichtigsten ist, in ihrer Abschlussprüfung durchgefallen ist. In Nagaland ist es oft üblich, dass Schüler nicht von zu Hause kommen, sondern in der Schule wohnen. Ähnlich wie ein Internat. So wurde Hutoli für die Wiederholung der Klasse in der Schule wohnhaft und bekam mehr Unterstützung und Nachhilfe. Das bedeutet auch wenig Ablenkung, denn zu Hause gibt es immer viele Probleme, welche nun alle weg fielen. Red Connection hat dabei die Kosten übernommen. Letzte Woche hat Hutoli die 10. Klasse mit einer Auszeichnung und fantastischen Ergebnissen abgeschlossen und kann jetzt zur 11. Klasse übergehen. Bildung und höhere Abschlüsse sind in Nagaland sehr wichtig.

The Garden Youth


In unserer Ki.rche wurde ein mehrtägiges Jugendcamp veranstaltet. Da konnten einige unserer Jugendlichen auch daran teilnehmen. Das war für alle Teilnehmer eine gute Erfahrung, da die Jugendlichen aus sehr extrem unterschiedlichen Gesellschaftsschichten kamen und jetzt Tag und Nacht zusammen waren.

Osterprogramm


An Ostern hatten wir Besuch von einer Kinderki.rche “Kids Wor.ship Centre”. Gemeinsam feierten wir Je.sus und hatten viel Spaß mit Spielen und anderen Aktivitäten. Wieder einmal hatten wir extreme Unterschiede der Gesellschaftsschichten, aber das war kein Hinderniss. Die Bühne war frei für die Kinder ihre Talente vorzutragen. Es wurde hauptsächlich gesungen und getanzt. Es war schön zu sehen, dass unsere Kinder gut mithalten konnten, obwohl sie von zu Hause her keine Unterstützung bekommen und wie andere Kinder Gesangsunterricht etc bekommen.

Das ist hier eigentlich kein Thema mehr. Alle Einschränkungen sind aufgehoben. Es wurde versucht eine Im.pfpflicht zu erzwingen, aber dies ist gescheitert.
